Blogging – you probably know about it because you are reading one right now.

“So how in the world can a blog make you smarter?!”

That’s what you’re probably thinking. Well, blogging involves writing for one. The more you write, the better you get at writing and of course, a better use of language means that you can at the least, seem smarter. Society looks up to people who can write well because it gives an outward appearance of intelligence and serves as proof of education (a very common factor used in determining your status, which may possibly equate to smartness).

For those who want a scientifically explained benefit – writing uses the left brain and frees up the right part, which deals more with the creative side of things – the side that can come up with less-orthodox solutions. This can lead to things you never even thought about and they just come up right at you as you write. Try it.

How to do it

Simple. Go to blogger.com and sign up for an account and there you have it – your own personal blog that you can tell all your friends about and show them that you know your stuff. Write things that they would go “AH HAH!” with and dazzle them with the things that you know and they don’t.

I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

The best blogging techniques.

How to get traffic to your blog.

How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.

Breakfast, the meal that many people skip -

“There’s no time for breakfast!”

“Breakfast is a waste of time…”

“I can save money by eating one less meal!”

The all common reasons why people don’t eat their breakfast, but little do they know that doing that is not a very smart thing to do.

Why? Breakfast has been proven over and over again to be extremely beneficial on the brain, and you can become significantly smarter than you already are just by having this often neglected meal.

It may be the lightest meal you have, but it’s most likely because you make it so, and then dismiss it because it seems so puny and won’t have any significant effect on anything. It’s culture that is spreading the fact that breakfast is the lightest meal, when the best way is actually to have it the heaviest, with dinner being the lightest. However, I understand that you will most likely find it hard to have a heavy breakfast because I did. But I managed to get around it, and now I’m frequently having a breakfast that’s very much like the lunch I used to have.

Why Does Breakfast Make You Smarter

You get a better memory - your starved body is unable to provide your brain with a constant supply of glucose, and your brain is impaired. It has been proven many times that our memory is significantly poorer when we skip breakfast. Consider this – the number of hours your body hasn’t had any food when you don’t eat breakfast, is since you last had dinner, which is at least 12 hours away from lunch. Don’t you think the energy you had gotten from dinner would have been exhausted by then? This leaves your body to convert protein and fat into energy your brain can use, and a very inefficient form, causing lowered brain performance.

You think faster and clearer - You will be able to process problems and solve them much better and also make less errors when doing tasks. Know that you will look smart to other people as well, because you can avoid mistakes that would otherwise be embarrassing or mistakes that would make you lose credibility when you want to prove something.

You get improved spatial memory - This is the memory that is responsible for your awareness of the surrounding. Without this, you won’t be able to navigate properly. It also helps with solving puzzles and art.

You concentrate better - It is hard to focus when your brain has a lack of energy and you feel sleepy and unalert.

Your verbal fluency is improved - How many times have you embarrassed yourself by making speech mistakes? You look and sound smarter when you can speak fluently.

You learn better - Even if you’re no longer studying, you still learn. When you get a new assignment at your job, you need to study it before you know what to do, and how to do it well. Breakfast increases your ability to pick out and select better information, which means you become a lot more efficient at learning. And remember, learning helps you build up intelligent memory, which helps you in many other aspects. You won’t be able to come up with smart solutions without intelligent memory.

Your mood is improved - I have mentioned numerous times about being able to think better when you’re in a good mood. When you’re in a bad mood, you tend to think of the more useless things, and become less focused on your goal.

You are less likely to become depressed - Mindset plays a huge role in whether you think and do smart. If you think you’re smart, you think and do things like a smart person would. It has been shown that the opinion of one’s self helps in many other areas, and this is just one of them.

Your mental abilities will be better than most people around you - because they don’t eat their breakfast. You can become the smartest at work or school just by eating breakfast. The effects are significant enough to overcome genetic advantage.

**Bonus Benefit** Eating breakfast can help you lose weight - Firstly, you eat less each meal, and that prevents you from eating too much in the later meals, which causes excess energy that is turned to fat. Secondly, you tend to eat less later on.

Is all that enough to make you want to eat breakfast?

If you want to become smarter, it sure is! And I’m pretty sure you’d like to be even smarter than you are now.

I will be giving you some tips on how you can maintain this smart habit. Bur first, what you can do.

What You Can Do To Become Smarter

//-->

Simple, eat your breakfast.

Which foods to choose? Read Tip #5 an Tip #6 about foods that help increase your brain power. Combine eating breakfast with these, and you’re easily many folds ahead of others at maximizing your brain power.

Doing it, that’s the hard part. But here are some suggestions…

How You Can Do It To Become Smarter

1. Wake up earlier – Yes, try to set your alarm clock to ring 15 minutes earlier, and if you cannot lose even 15 minutes of sleep, go to bed 15 minutes earlier. If you really hate to do this, try the next few.

2. Sandwiches – Simply ask the chef of the household to make you some sandwiches, or if its you, make it yourself. They are easily made and packed and can be eaten at the workplace most of the time, or on your way to work. Make two wholegrain bread sandwiches with ham, eggs and cheese for the complete meal. The ingredients I just mentioned are particularly good for memory improvement. This is one of the easiest and most convenient methods of having breakfast and one of the most customizable, but don’t make it too light or the effects will be light too. Have 4 half-sandwiches instead. (4 slices of bread in all)

3. Smoothie -Simply make it the night before and put it in the fridge for zero preparation time in the morning. Use yogurt and fruit to make a healthy milkshake, and yogurt is one of the brain foods because it contains the chemical tyrosine, that helps create neurotransmitters. (Read Tip #5 on the benefits of these neurotransmitters)

4. Both Sandwiches and a Smoothie - The smoothie alone does not have any complete proteins unless of course, you put bacon in it. Jokes aside, having both will be even better if you can manage.

5. Oatmeal bars & Muesli bars - They have a low G.I. and they are delicious. Very convenient too.

6. Buy Breakfast on the way to work/school - Yes, I do that a lot. I just buy food from restaurants/shops that I pass by as I go to work/school and eat at work. If your workplace does not allow you to eat packed meals that look like lunch (best way I can describe it), buy foods like sandwiches or fast food sandwiches if it’s the only convenient place to get them. Yes, fast food sandwiches have a broader amount of nutrients when compared to cereal with fruit, and these nutrients are very important. For example, cereal and fruit have no fat, which help slow down carbohydrate digestion rate which helps maintain a stabler energy supply.

7. Shop for instant food - Yes, if you really cannot do the rest, get instant foods that can be microwaved in the morning. Breakfast is that important if you want to become smarter. However, choose your foods right, and make sure they contain proteins and carbohydrates.

All these methods are viable, and you can even rotate them so that you get to try different things each time.

To conclude, if you want to become smarter, remember breakfast!

I hope you enjoyed this article -

P.S. Do you currently eat breakfast? If not, what are the reason? I would love to hear it, and I’d gladly post a solution on how you can best overcome it.

The Tango. The Cha-cha. The Waltz. You know all these too well, but what you probably don’t know, is that dancing is the one of the most effective physical activities for enhancing the brain and making you smarter.

Let me explain.

Why Dancing Makes You Smarter

Dancing results in increased serotonin levels, the neurotransmitter responsible for enhancing many of the brain’s functions, both directly and indirectly, as I’ve talked about in other articles quite extensively, especially Tip #5: Eat the Right Foods.

It reduces stress, which allows the brain to perform better as it’s not under a whole load of pressure. Pressure reduces our thinking rationale, and we tend to make rash decisions, which is not smart at all.

Dancing improves your sense of of well being - again, another factor that will affect the way you think, and you tend to make smarter choices when you feel this way. Note that it is not just about mindset, the chemicals your brain gets from dancing contribute to this as well, so there’s a biological part to it.

You learn better because of point no. 1 which I mentioned above. Serotonin enhances learning abilities, which means you take in more and better information when you do things, which you will use to apply to other aspects of life. You maximize your experience of doing something because you learn more out of it, so you will be able to make smarter decisions whenever you encounter another situation where you will use what you have learnt.

Your memory is improved because of increased serotonin levels. I’ve talked about the benefits of memory on being smarter numerous times in other articles, which you might have already read, or if you have not, just explore the sections via the navigation bar on the right.

You have a better appetite, and why is this important? The more you feel like eating, the more enthusiastic you will get about food, and you’ll take effort in choosing what you want to eat. Food has a huge impact on the brain, as I’ve talked about in Tip #5 and Tip #6. If you haven’t read those, scroll back up to click on the links and read them – you wouldn’t want to miss one of the most easily applicable things you can do to become smarter!

You sleep better and the benefits of this on the brain is enormous, and the negative effects of having a lack of it is not very nice to hear too. Dancing will allow you to sleep better and get enough proper sleep through the night.

Dancing increases your intelligence, because it requires a significant amount of decision making, based on your partner’s moves. When you dance, many aspects of your brain is used – kinesthetic, musical, rational and emotional – which would result in improved decision making, especially split-second decision making. You train your brain to create new neurological paths, which leaves you with more possibilities in solving problems.

Your resistance to mental illnesses such as Alzheimer’s and dementia is increased by 78% compared to if you don’t dance. This keeps you smart as you get older and the amount of synapses (neuron connections in the brain) reduces to less than two times of what you have when you’re young.

I just mentioned a whole load of benefits you can get, and hopefully, you will see how beneficial dancing is to the brain.

What You Can Do To Start Dancing

Dancing seems like a really unappealing thing to a lot of people, probably even to you, especially when it comes to ballroom dances – as it’s not particularly at its trendiest now. However, its definitely still one of the most romantic things you can do with your partner and it can become something very memorable.Dancing will be here to stay for a long time and its not just cultural, it also remains as one of the best relationship-strengthening activities that you can do with a partner

If you’re in a relationship, go ahead and ask your partner if he or she is interested in taking on dancing lessons with you, or you could simply get some dancing DVDs and practice with your partner at the comfort of your own homes where you can have all the privacy and of course, some warm tender loving, with just the two of you spending quality time together, alone.

Just imagine dancing in the moonlight with your partner at the shore, even a balcony will do – watching over the beautiful horizon and outdoors.

Surely all this sounds appealing to you.

…and don’t forget, you also get smarter!

And if you have no partner, fret not!

Simply – look for a dance class near you. It may not sound appealing yet, but read on.

Dancing is a social activity, and you get to meet along of people. It’s also a natural icebreaker, aside from being one of the most exhilarating dating activities.

When you join a dancing class, you will get a dance partner or even multiple dance partners, and you get to go through the fun process of learning how to dance, where everybody makes mistakes together and doesn’t worry because everyone is at the same level. You might even meet your dream date at a place like this. Soon enough, you’ll be able to advance to where I was speaking just before this and have the most romantic moments!

If you’re a guy, one huge point of learning how to dance is that it boosts your confidence. When you know your moves and you’re not afraid to show it, it becomes very easy to ask for a dance at a date. This even extends to general confidence in your dates, as you’ll learn how to handle a woman when you learn to dance.

Ladies, when you learn how to dance, you gain grace, poise and the charm of a dancer – and surely, you’d prefer a man who can dance! Also, you also make dancing more romantic and enjoyable during a date.

Just imagine dancing with the partner of your dreams.

Its a very pleasant thought.

Are these reasons enough to get you dancing?

How You Can Start Dancing

You can see a list of different dances you can learn here. Among those are the famous ones you know like The Waltz and the Tango.

Look for advertisements in the newspapers, or simply ask around to find out where you can learn dancing. It’s way worth the investment when you can meet new people, especially since you might be able to meet the person of your dreams. Dancing triggers romantic thoughts and you’re more likely to fall in love there, and this applies to your dance partner too!

Get DVDs that teach dancing. It’s only advisable for couples to do this because it’s really hard to learn alone. Plus, you won’t get to meet new people! A great place to get these DVDs is at The Dance Store Online.

Intimidated by going alone? It’s actually better to go alone, because you will naturally spend more time with the people there instead of hanging out with your clique all the time. Also, you’ll be free to go places after the lessons without any pressure because you’re alone!

Still intimidated?! Find a friend who might be interested in taking dance lessons with you. There won’t be a lot of embarrassing moments because your friend would be learning too, and he’s might even make mistakes than you do!

Join the dance club at your school/institution and you don’t only get to meet new people, you meet people of your age group that you can clique with without worries of a generation gap.

Simply, ask your partner to learn dancing with you. This is for the couples out there, and its really easy to do because theres two willing!

Hopefully, you got an insight on dancing and how great it can be for the brain and becoming smarter!

Nootropics? What is this weird sounding word?

It’s actually a group of substances that can make you smarter, in short, drugs that can make you smarter.

They achieve this effect in three different ways:

Increase the Neurotransmitter Count in Your Brain

Stimulate Nerve Growth

Increasing Oxygen Supply to Your Brain

Why It Makes You Smarter

Increasing the neurotransmitter count in your brain has MASSIVE benefits: you can improve your ability to focus, improve your calculation ability, improve your creativity, improve your mood and become smarter. All I have mentioned in Tip #5 to great detail. The benefits of having more neurotransmitters in your brain, I’ve stated it here and here, tips #4 and #5 respectively.

Thinking is very demanding, and neurons have to be fired all the time in this process, which leads to depletion of these neurotransmitters and lowers your brain’s performance. If you don’t replenish this supply of neurotransmitters, you will lose your concentration abilities, get a bad mood (which results in rash and dumb decisions), learn slower and get mental fatigue. All these you definitely do not want.

As you age, your ability to produce larger quantities of these neurotransmitters decreases, and you will suffer all these consequences. However, nootropics can fix this problem and maintain the amount of these important chemicals in your brain, and remain smart.

As for Oxygen, it increases your focus, your concentration ability and keeps your brain alert, so you can think better, straighter and faster – thus, coming up with better solutions and ideas and also prevents you from falling to reflex tricks, allowing you to beat people around you at thinking of solutions to problems – in other words, you become smarter. The benefits of oxygen, I have spoken about in another article here, tip #3.

Taking these nootropics daily will have your brain becoming a lot more powerful. In this medical age, many things are possible, and this is one of the greater ones. I mean, making yourself smarter? Who could have imagined in the past this was possible?!

Benefits range from social superiority to better performance at almost anything you do to simply living better because you can overcome a lot more things when you’re smarter.

What You Can Do To Become Smarter

Simple. Go down to your local pharmacy and get some nootropics, or add foods which are nootropic into your diet. There are also some very easy ways to get these online – its more convenient and you have access to some of the best nootropics around, which you might find hard to find at your local store. I’ll be telling you how to get these in a moment.

Plan your meals so you include nootropics

Easier method – Just get the pills and pop it once a day, simple as that. It might even have better results as you control how much you take in, something you cannot see or know with regular food.

The Best Method - Combine both.

How You Can Do It To Become Smarter

Eat the right foods to increase your neurotransmitter count, as can be seen in Tip #4 and Tip #5. I won’t elaborate here since it’s available on the other post.

Get the proven and reliable nootropics out in the market. I stress ‘PROVEN’ and ‘RELIABLE’ because there are some scams out there that are just trying to make a quick buck. I’m going to present the good ones here so that you won’t have a hard time finding them and risking your health unnecessarily.

It’s amazing what science can do today. There is one Nootropic that has been proven again and again to achieve this – but I will keep the best for the last.

One of the nootropics in the list is the all-famous Ginkgo Biloba. It does not affect the brain directly – but it improves your blood circulation, which means your brain gets more oxygen, and the benefits start to kick in. (See Tip #3 for the benefits)

Modafinil is another you can take, and it improves your memory, concentration, focus and also your mood. It has also been shown to reduce the amount of sleep you need – a very useful application as I will speak about in another tip in the coming week

Vitamin C is a nootropic for Dopamine, which enhances your learning ability and therefore, your intelligent memory, enabling you to think of effective solutions to problems. So, eat your fruits and vegetables and you should be good to go.

Tryptophan increases serotonin levels, which also enhances learning ability and your mood, which is important because your brain will not function as well when it’s under pressure.

Chromium stabilizes your blood-sugar level improves oxygen flow to the brain which enables better concentration. Essentially, it gives your brain energy.

Caffeine (Yes, coffee helps) increases your mental agility, stamina, concentration and focus. However, try not to take too much of it as some research results advice against it.

Alpha-GPC increases your acetylcholine levels, which improves memory, concentration and focus. It also helps in high-order thought processing, which is what the neurotransmitter is responsible for.

BrainQuicken - The most reputable instant effect nootropic out in the market. It is used by students at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Oxford and by 17 World Champions. It is the most impressive nootropic around and its benefits are guaranteed to kick within 60 minutes of the first dose – yes, you become more intelligent within the hour. They are so confident that they are even giving you a 110% guarantee, so it’s risk-free to try out. You can buy BrainQuicken here.

Here’s to wrap up on nootropics.

To Your Smartness!

I found a cool game that helps train your memory and help you become smarter – it’s called Mastermind.

Remember, improving your memory will enable you to improve your intake of intelligent memory, which is the subconscious part that helps you decide on how to get a problem solved. You will be able to handle more problems better and not worry about looking like a dumb person that does not know how to do whatever is in front of him/her – in short, you become smarter at solving problems because you use what you remember to apply to the current situation.

Bookmark this page so you can come back frequently to play it and train your memory. If you ever get bored of it, there’ll be new games posted by then.

For now, enjoy!

This is a continuation from Eating to your Smartness – Part 3, part of a series of articles about how to become smarter through foods, so visit here if you haven’t read it.<o></o>

This is the last part of the section on Nutritious foods for the brain, and it continues from part 3 of the series of articles on becoming smarter with food. If you can remember, I spoke about how important proteins are in the formation of neurotransmitters, a vital part of enhanced brain function and intelligence.<o></o>

Today, I will speak about the vitamins.<o></o>

So, why are they important?<o></o>

Vitamins are needed in converting the amino acids into the neurotransmitters and what you eat would go to waste if you did not have the vitamins necessary. Simply put, vitamins are needed to build new neurotransmitters.<o></o>

Vitamins are also essential in protecting the brain cells you have, and this preserves your brain power and intelligence over time, keeping it consistent as you age. In other words, you remain smart and agile even with age.<o></o>

Vitamins also improve the oxygen supply to your brain, as I mentioned in part 2, which benefits you a whole lot as well. If you haven’t read about how much oxygen can help you become smarter, click here

Getting the Vitamins

So how do you go about getting these vitamins?<o></o>

Simple – fruits and vegetables.<o></o>

Very recent studies have shown that pills do not work well, if they even work at all. Somehow, our body absorbs vitamins effectively only when they are consumed through natural foods.<o></o>

Do you really, REALLY need me to tell you which foods are considered fruit or vegetables? Don’t pretend to not know! I know some of you sighed the moment those words came out – but please take note, because the benefits are more significant than you think!

Vitamins C and E have been linked to strong memory and they can be gotten from:<o></o>

Citrus fruits – Oranges, Lemon, Grapefruit, Limes, Tangerines <o></o>

Green leafy vegetables – Spinach (Popeye’s favorite), Dandelion Greens, Kale, Swiss chard<o></o>

Nuts – Peanuts, Macadamia, Almonds<o></o>

Fortified cereals – The ones you get in a box<o></o>

Berries – Strawberries, Blueberries<o></o>

Berries have also been shown to improve coordination, concentration and short-term memory.<o></o>

Now onto the next important component: Glucose.<o></o>

Glucose is also an essential when it comes to brain food as it is the fuel for your brain. You will want to eat foods that digest slowly; foods with a low glycemic index (GI) do just that and thats all you need to know.

Low GI = Good

They provide your brain with a constant supply of energy for longer periods of time unlike high GI foods, which release a burst of energy, causing fluctuations that jeopardize the brain’s abilities to think, including the ability to learn properly – which is key in creating intelligent memory, memory that contributes to overall intelligence.<o></o>

To keep your brain’s energy supply constant, eat a snack once between meals, but avoid junk food. Some foods you can eat as a healthy, energy giving snack are fruits or whole meal grain bars. (I highly suggest Muesli Bars; delicious and healthy at the same time!)<o></o>

For a whole database of low GI foods, visit: http://www.glycemicindex.com/ and click on GI Database at the menu on the left side of the screen.<o></o>

This is a continuation from Eating to your Smartness – Part 2, part of a series of articles about how you can become smarter through foods, so visit here if you haven’t read it.<o></o>

In the last 2 articles, I spoke about the overall benefits of eating well and of the huge effect of drinking water right in part 1, and spoke about how to increase your IQ and become smarter with oxygen and meditation in part 2. Now, I will be talking about nutritious foods – the most extensive section.<o></o>

How You can become smarter by eating right

<o></o>

This is the longest section of the three parts on a single topic as it includes almost every single one of the other foods that hasn’t been mentioned yet. Our brain uses approximately 20% of all the energy our body uses at any given day. The amount of energy it consumes is tremendous, especially since it only takes up 2% of our total body mass. From this fact alone, you can see how much the food we eat can affect the brain.<o></o>

The brain is picky about what it takes in, as it only uses certain nutrients. Brain cells, the primary component our brains are made out of, require what we call neurotransmitters to carry messages around. Proteins, vitamins and minerals are the building blocks needed to create new neurotransmitters. However, some can be consumed almost directly, and I will be talking about that just a little later in the post.<o></o>

Eating enough of these foods will boost your ability to think faster, better and even raise your intelligence (IQ).<o></o>

If you know what to eat, and what to not eat, your mental capabilities will skyrocket.<o></o>

The 3 key neurotransmitters in our brain are Acetylcholine, Dopamine & Serotonin – each of which is responsible for certain functions.<o></o>

Acetylcholine

Here is a list of foods that help boost Acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter responsible for memory, concentration and focus:<o></o>

Egg Yolks<o></o>

Peanuts<o></o>

Meat – Chicken, Beef, Pork, Mutton<o></o>

Fish<o></o>

Liver<o></o>

Dairy Products – Milk and Cheese<o></o>

Vegetables – Broccoli, Cabbage and Cauliflower have higher amounts<o></o>

Remember those clearly… and now for the next one neurotransmitter:<o></o>

Dopamine

Dopamine is responsible for learning, a very important feature that helps boost intelligent memory, the memory that contributes to your overall intelligence. A list of foods that boost this particular neurotransmitter:<o></o>

All proteins – Meat, Milk products, Fish, Nuts, Beans, Soy products, etc.<o></o>

Basically, anything that contains protein and it’s really quite hard to find a meal where we Do Not eat meat – so you probably won’t have to worry about this too much!<o></o>

Serotonin

Serotonin is also responsible for learning and memory. Carbohydrates are the primary foods that contain the building blocks for this neurotransmitter. Some foods to increase your serotonin levels are:<o></o>

Pasta<o></o>

Potatoes<o></o>

Starchy Vegetables – Corn, Pumpkin, Peas, Yam, Sweet Potatoes<o></o>

Breads<o></o>

Cereals<o></o>

Also to add, Serotonin is the key to a good sleep and it is responsible for making you sleepy, a very important factor for heightened intelligence and brain power – a topic for another day! Now back onto the subject…<o></o>

As you might have noticed, meat was present in two of the lists above and the reason is simple – they have complete proteins. Complete proteins contain essential quantities of all 8 essential amino acids that are needed for the body to create these neurotransmitters. Other foods such as vegetables, grains, seeds and nuts contain incomplete proteins and only have some of the 8 essential amino acids, but they contain the vitamins, which I will talk about soon enough.<o></o>

If you find times where there’s hardly any meat on the dining table or if you are vegetarian, there is no need to worry. Combinations of foods with incomplete proteins will allow you to obtain ALL of the essential ones you can find in meats; the most popular combination being rice and beans.<o></o>

You probably find it hard to remember what to eat with all these facts bombarding you, but only do it with the meals you can decide and plan. Simply, just remember that your meals should have at least one meat dish containing meat (chicken, beef, pork or mutton), at least one with carbohydrates (rice, bread, potatoes) and at least one with green, leafy vegetables. If any single one of them is missing, try to buy or find a dish that contains the missing one.<o></o>

Alternatively, you could print this page out and put it in your kitchen as a reminder and checklist you can use whenever you go shopping for groceries.<o></o>

This is the end of part 3 of the series of articles, Eating to your Smartness.<o></o>

For more tips on becoming smarter and part 4 of this series, check back in a day or two.<o></o>

I just updated the blog with a new ratings feature and some polls, and they are really cool!

Hopefully, you’ll find some use for them to give your feedback more easily and I’ll be using those to improve the website – so it can provide you with the best information on becoming smarter.

Now, as for the polls, they will be used to help me understand you even more, so I’ll be able to respond to you and hopefully, make you even smarter.

Also, I apologize for not posting new information these 2 days as I’ve been busy.

Stereoscopic Images

Here’s a really cool link with more images you should check out:

http://www.isnichwahr.de/redirect16975.html

It’s a bunch of stereo pictures with two frames that play one after another, and each is from a slightly different perspective, so you get the 3D effect. Both our eyes do just exactly that, each looking from a different angle, which allows us to perceive depth. This simply means that people with one eye cannot tell depth from sight alone, and will need to use logic such as size of object to determine it.

Another place to explore is here:

http://www.jrsdesign.net/cross_parallel_viewing.html

It has awesome parallel viewing images, but you have to train yourself to see these and its VERY rewarding! Try it. It may take more than an hour but if you have the time, it’s really fun.

I personally find the cross-eyed method easier, and managed to do it with a picture of a pretty lady in the past and my god, I almost wanted to… well… hold her hand! (Have to keep it safe)

It’s out of the blog’s subject scope, so I won’t delve into it much!

That’s all for today, it’s a short post but watch out for part 3 of “Eating to Your Smartness” coming your way tomorrow!

After all the posts about food, I decided that it was time to take a break from it and talk about something different for now – Meditation.

Undoubtedly, one of the strongest ways to become smarter, more intelligent and think much better in improving your brain’s ability is meditation. I love this method the most as it even has benefits way beyond becoming smarter, but let’s not get to that, it’s out of the topic!<o></o>

It has been proven that meditation is so powerful that it can actually modify the brain physically and train it in ways that few people can imagine – disproving the common notion that the nerve connections within the brain are determined at birth and cannot be changed.<o></o>

This means that you can alter your mind to become more intelligent and smarter than ever before. <o></o>

The benefits of meditation go beyond just giving the brain more oxygen, which I talked about in Eating to your Smartness Part 2 – it creates higher brain activity, heightened awareness, better focus, better memory and better learning ability. You will be able to think better, and produce better results with more focus on anything you set out to achieve be it scoring in exams, or simply just to improve your life.<o></o>

Buddhist monks said that it helps increase concentration and attention, as can be seen in this article here which also talks about the other benefits of meditation.<o></o>

On a Washington Post article here, it said this,<o></o>

“What we found is that the long-time practitioners showed brain activation on a scale we have never seen before” – Dr. Richard Davidson

It’s a very strong reason to begin meditation I think, and what makes it even better is the whole myriad of other benefits it has, including relaxation and stress management which also actually benefits your brain and thinking ability because it functions much better when not under pressure, as you can tell from your own experiences as well.

Don’t know where to start?

A few ways to pick up meditation:

First Way

The first way is to take good ol’ lessons from your friendly neighborhood instructor. If you don’t know of any, ask your friends and they might be taking lessons themselves or maybe they know someone who does it, or you could just look at the newspaper classifieds to look for a trainer. The costs can range from $300 to $2500, so it’s quite an investment.

One that is quite popular in the USA can be found here: http://www.tm.org/

Second Way

If you want to go all out on become smarter and more intelligent, you’ll want to get to learn the more advanced techniques which will bring your brain to an even higher level.

I found Secrets of Meditation while I was searching for alternatives to the expensive coaching sessions. It’s a good course and that will bring you all the way from the beginner level up to the advanced level. You can even start immediately as its a digital product and no shipping is needed.

They are offering a free e-course on meditation, so it’d be good to pop in and sign up anyways!

Click here to start using Secrets of Meditation!

Third Way

If you want to try it out at a very low cost (only $7), this next one perfect. I stumbled upon this book while I was searching for beginner courses on meditation and I found it pretty good for starting out.

The book I’m talking about is Easy Meditations.

It’s great for beginners and I highly recommend it if you’ve had no prior experience in meditation. The book explains and teaches you everything that you need to know about beginning meditation and the great thing is, you can begin reading what they teach immediately after the purchase because you get to download it right after. It beats the starter courses you find elsewhere outside that can cost hundreds or even thousands.

Click here to get Easy Meditations!<o></o>

<o></o>

That’s all I have on meditation for today! It’s definitely one of the strongest, if not the strongest method for brain enhancement and maximization.<o></o>

To Your Smartness!<o></o>
